What do I collect about you and why?
First of all, let me say how delighted I am that you are here on my website. When you visit my website, you have the option to connect with me via a call or email. You provide your email address here, so I can respond to your inquiry and share further information.
As a reader of my website, some details such as your IP address may be collected, and cookies may be dropped onto your device. IP Address is a technical term for your device’s electronic address. Unfortunately, cookies are not the soft, chewy and chocolatey kind. Instead, they are small text files used to identify your device, track your visit to a website or application, or remember your preferences.
It’s a joy to share my words with you, and the celebration doubles when you decide to work with me through a commission of services, collaboration or other. When we work together, I have a legitimate interest in collecting a little more information, such as your name, contact details, address and billing information, as I cannot operate my business properly without these details. However, I will do my best to ensure these administrative matters do not get in the way of producing soulful content for you.
What is the lawful basis that allows me to collect this?
By filling in your email address, you say yes and provide consent. In other words, you are choosing to connect and receive updates. It would break my heart to see you go, but at any time, you can inform me you no longer wish to receive the updates. Send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and add the text ‘Remove from mailing list’ or ‘Unsubscribe’.

Who is the controller of the information?
The ‘Controller’ of the information is Bohem Notes, which is the trading name for my caption and content writing business and coaching services. You can contact me at email@example.com
Will I share your information?
No, I will not share your information with anyone unless I am required to do this by law or an order of the Court.
Where will I store your information?
Keeping your information safe and secure is important to me. Below are a list of tools and products that I currently use and/or subscribe to:
· Google suite of products for correspondence and record keeping;
· WordPress for my blog, Bohemian Crossing;
· Xero accounting software for billing and invoicing;
· Zoom, Whatsapp or classic telephone call for audio and video communications.
Where possible, I will store your information in the UK. However, service providers may use storage facilities elsewhere. I have exercised care to select approved and known service providers and will ensure that contracts and licences are in place for any service providers I use.
I will keep your information for the length of time required by law or until you inform me otherwise. At a minimum, financial records must be kept for 6 years, and other details will be kept for 12 months after we stop working together.
After that, I will take the necessary steps to dispose of the information securely.
Kindly note that I may add more tools to enhance the services from time to time. So please check in to this page every once in a while for updates.
What are your rights?
You may request to view and obtain a copy of the personal information I hold about you (known as a ‘Subject Access Request’). You may also ask me to correct or delete your personal information. These are at no cost to you. If you would like a copy of your information, you can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate the nature of your request in the subject line. For example: ‘Request to View Personal Data Information’. I would appreciate it if you could take this step as it would be helpful for me. Upon receiving your email, I will have one month to respond to you.
