Meet Chantal

Chantal Bunga, Country Chair for Switzerland, and our October Portraits of Joy. demonstrates how to discover joy by reconnecting with oneself. As a poetic activist, she empowers individuals to break free from screen overload and return to their hearts, ultimately guiding them towards a more mindful and joyful way of living.

What is Chantal’s journey?

Becoming a mother was a pivotal moment in Chantal’s journey to discover joy. Just like a lion fiercely protects her cub, she explored joy with a similar intensity. Through nurturing both her child and herself, she found strength, becoming more confident in seeking support and embracing a complete approach to wellbeing. Furthermore, Chantal began to see the value in community, realising that seeking help is also a sign of strength. This led her to consider a more holistic and wholesome wellbeing approach. Ultimately, she discovered that the direction to joy is inward rather than outward.

Summing up her learnings, Chantal encourages us to “re-root,” a phrase I found particularly powerful, with the symbolism of roots representing a solid foundation. Therefore, if we can find this strength and sense of calm deep within us, we can better view things, feel more balanced, and be braver. For more perspectives about joy, tune in here.
