Meet Paula

Joy is about making choices and choosing well for yourself. Sometimes, in making that decision, we need to sit with uncomfortable feelings. These are the moments that call us to face our challenges and stretch us out of our comfort zone. By doing this, we become more resourceful and shift from ‘reacting’ to ‘responding’.  For more thoughts and conversations about joy, click here.

How can we make better choices to discover joy?

When I spoke to Paula Alphonse about this and her thoughts on how to discover joy, she said, “It is those moments that allow you to ground yourself in your reality.” There was something very poetic in her interpretation, and it felt like an invitation to examine our lives and be more intentional in noticing our habits, movements, and everyday actions that contribute to our daily choices. Paula makes this a somewhat meditative practice and finds these moments in little rocks.

How do stones provide this moment of connection?

Stones hold stories, and Paula finds these little gems as a tool to help her recenter herself and discover joy. Each stone carries a unique journey, offering a moment of reflection and connection with the natural world. It helps her connect with her emotions and make better choices about how she wants to feel. Paula finds nature as a great source of learning. She encourages us to be inspired by it and use its wisdom to gain insights. Paula reads us lines from one of her favourite poems‘Soften,’ by Megan King.

Paula is a transformation facilitator and brings her 16-plus years of experience to empower people to reach their full potential and live their best lives.
