Meet Angeli
~ Live a life of wholesomeness and awareness, one breath at a time ~
About
Angeli Jagota, a mother of three who celebrates motherhood for the gift of transformation it has brought into her life.
Lockdown ~ The upside
Angeli reflects on the closing down of her yoga studio; which was once her dream set up as an entrepreneur as a blessing. She says “it brought me closer to my family. I came back into all my other roles; a wife, a mother and a person for me.” Angeli says stepping into the kitchen with her children was a lot of fun and each experience was filled with so much emotion. Angeli explains this with reference to living a true yogic lifestyle. She says “the yogic lifestyle is all about being present. Earlier, I was doing things as something on a to-do list. Now, I look at each act as something that transforms me.”
Angeli also enjoyed her me time doing things she had been putting on hold; attending courses, reading and having adequate rest. She adds “I didn’t know how much stress I had in me. I took the opportunity to be more curious about stress; to understand my stress personality and what stresses me.”
The flipside ~ Lockdown
Based in Thailand, Angeli shares she was unable to visit parents and family in India. Lockdown placed a limit on physical restrictions and the external experience of being there with loved ones. Travelling was another thing she sees as a flipside of lockdown. Angeli shares “the kids are growing up and this is something we enjoy as a family.”
Listening to the body and nurturing it, rejuvenated spirits
Angeli developed a relationship with herself by tuning in and listening to her body. She shares “I had been fasting for years and with lockdown, I gave fasting a break. I stopped looking at the clock and fed my body with what it needs. It could be a good book, a nice herbal tea, food, sleep.” Angeli also started working out on her own with weight training and biking; both which she enjoys very much. She says, “movement is magical” and encourages everyone to get up and get moving.
What’s the best self-talk you have had or are having with yourself?
“When I am stressed or in stress, it is just my ego playing. By kneading stress with a simple breath, I bring myself back into awareness. Breath and awareness, helps me to understand myself at a deeper level.”
